Day 181 : Hartlepool – Middlesbrough

Today I start off at Hartlepool in wet soggy weather which does not show the place in it’s best light. Hartlepool seems to be split in two, first the headland, the older part which shelter the docks and West Hartlepool with the shops and marina.

Day 180 : Seaham – Hartlepool

I have now crossed the border into the county of Durham. As I enter Seaham at the Terrace Green by the cenotaph are two long lines of wooden crosses and poppies laid out to remember those who have given their lives. What a lovely way to pay tribute to those who have died.

Day 179 : North Shields – Seaham

My first stop was at Littlehaven Beach where there were some diddy sculptures laid out almost like a giant chessboard. The public artwork was called “Conversation” by a Spanish sculptor. I didn’t find them very talkative, but there again I am used to talking to myself.
