    • I have had a pair of Meindl boots for a couple of years now, I can’t remember the model type. They are extremely comfortable and get used most weeks in all sorts of weather. I realise that are not going to last another 5000+ miles, so I’m looking to buy another pair and break them in. Not sure at the moment what to go for. I would be quite happy with another pair of Meindl maybe the Bhutan but also considering the Alt-Berg Malham and Scarpa models. Thanks, Tony

    • Hi there Brigzy, my apologies for not replying sooner.

I have treated myself to a new Panasonic dmc-tz60 Compact superzoom. It has good views, has WiFi and GPS and. 30x zoom. I let you how well it performs. Tony

  1. Ah I see the ViewRanger logo on your site now. I just installed this same app onto my new phone (OnePlus One) this week – it seems pretty awesome. I was using MapMyWalk.com but its no good if you don’t have a map as there is no detail.
Tomorrow’s trip for me – the Leeds Country Way part 2 – just 17 miles.

Happy walking Tony & support crew family πŸ™‚

    • I have the 1:25000 maps of Great Britain on my phone. They are spot on and the GPS is very accurate. It is very reassuring back up to my paper maps that I carry with me. I also found the people at Viewranger very helpful.
