Today starts at the Devonshire cliffside resort of Lynton and Lynmouth
I start my walk with a ride, a ride down on the Lynton Cliff Railway to Lynmouth harbour. Here is a picture from the top in the cable car.
Everyday seems to start with a long steep climb and today was no different. Followed the road all the way up and then branched out onto the Foreland.
Again I met a couple, Frankie and Annie who were out exercising their dogs. After a chat, they said that they owned a farm near Minehead which was on the South West Coastal Path and invited me to call in when I was passing.
It was nice to see the Exmoor ponies out enjoying the freedom of the moors. Was this one quite shy? They must be quite robust, hardy animals to withstand some of the weather on the moors.
I made it to the border with Somerset at County Gate. Unfortunately, I had to turn back as there was no buses out here. The downhill back into Lynmouth was a lot easier than the coming up
