What a difference a day makes. Port Isaac looked a lot different this morning with a hint of sunshine. Was the Doc at home? With a chain link fence across the front of the house, I guess there’s no surgery today.
Right next door to Port Isaac is Port Gaverne with a few boats and a beach. A few pictures then up onto the grassy clad cliffs.
Today was a good thigh burner with many ups and downs across rocky inlets and also a good leg stretcher with plenty of opportunities to step out across the grassy cliff tops.
There were so many coves and rocks to take in (Ranie Point, Delabole Point, Crookmoyle Rock, Trebarwith Strand). The photo opportunities gave me a chance to get my breath back.
I continually towards a church on the headland before Tintagel, St. Materiana, it had been in view for some time. After a photo, I dropped down towards Tintagel Castle, but it was closed off.
There was a need to keep going if I was to get to Boscastle before dark. Back onto the cliff tops of Barras Nose, Willapark and the Sisters Rocks. There was a big descent into the Rocky Valley. I was told it was worth a visit up the valley to St Nectan’s Glen to see the waterfalls but unfortunately time was not on my side.
I turned into Boscastle as it was getting dark. That had been a hard days walk.
